Dear Councilmember Petro,
OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
It's my privilege to inform you that Jill Remington Love has accepted a position as the City's Chief
Administrative Officer, pending advice and consent by the City Council.
By way of background, in addition to serving three terms as the District 5 representative on the Salt
Lake City Council with three stints as Council Chair, Jill has served Salt Lake City under three
different mayors, including as Mayor Becker's Community and Economic Development Director.
After her time in city government, Jill served the state of Utah under both Governor Herbert and
Governor Cox as the Executive Director of the Department of Cultural and Community
Engagement. Under her leadership Jill brought together diverse programs and new programs to
rebrand the department and build a collaborative approach to serve local communities. Over her 7
years in this role, she oversaw the State Historical Society, the State Historic Preservation Office,
Arts and Museums, the STEM Action Center, Multi -Cultural Affairs, UServe Utah, Indian Affairs
and the Pete Suazo Athletic Commission.
I respectfully ask your consideration and support for the appointment of Jill Remington Love as the
City's Chief Administrative Officer.
Respectfully,
Erin Mendenhall, Mayor
