Proposed Ordinance - 10/24/2024 (3)1 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. _____ of 2024 (Amending Title 21A of the Salt Lake City Code to change the number of monument signs permitted in manufacturing districts) An ordinance amending the text of Title 21A of the Salt Lake City Code pertaining to the number of monument signs permitted in manufacturing districts pursuant to Petition No. PLNPCM2023-00970. WHEREAS, on April 24, 2024, the Salt Lake City Planning Commission (“Planning Commission”) held a public hearing on a petition submitted by YESCO Sign Company to amend Salt Lake City’s land use regulations pertaining to the number of monument signs permitted in manufacturing districts (Petition No. PLNPCM2023-00970); and WHEREAS, at its April 24, 2024 meeting, the Planning Commission voted in favor of forwarding a positive recommendation to the Salt Lake City Council (“City Council”) on said petition; and WHEREAS, after a public hearing on this matter the City Council has determined that adopting this ordinance is in the city’s best interests. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. Amending the text of Subsection 21A.46.100.A.3. That Subsection 21A.46.100.A.3 of the Salt Lake City Code (Zoning: Signs: Sign Regulations for Manufacturing Districts: Sign Regulations for the M-1 and M-2 Manufacturing Districts: Sign Type, Size and Height Standards) is amended as to the table “Standards for the M-1 and M-2 Districts” found within said subsection but only as to the row thereof for the sign type “Monument sign” with no other alterations to the subsection, as follows: 2 Monument sign5 150 square feet 5 feet at the minimum setback and increases 1 foot for each additional 1 foot of setback for a maximum of 20 feet 5 feet 1 sign for the first 100’ of street frontage and 1 additional sign for every additional 250’ of street frontage.
