HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislative Version Ordinance - 6/10/2025 REVISED_REDLINE VERSION SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. _____ of 2025 Approving a compensation adjustment for elected and statutory officers, and executive municipal officers of Salt Lake City Corporation. WHEREAS, Utah Code § 10-3-818 provides a process for adjusting compensation for elected and statutory officers and for executive municipal officers of a municipality; and WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation (the “City”) desires to adjust the compensation of certain elected and statutory officers and of certain executive municipal officers of the City; and WHEREAS, a public hearing regarding such compensation adjustments, for which public notice was properly published pursuant to Utah Code § 10-3-818(2)(B) and Utah Code § 63G-30- 102, was held before the City Council of Salt Lake City on June 3, 2025______________; and WHEREAS, the procedural requirements set forth in Utah Code § 10-3-818 regarding this proposed compensation adjustment have now been satisfied; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. The compensation adjustments for City’s elected and statutory officers, and for City’s executive municipal officers, including any compensation schedules corresponding to such adjustments, as set forth in the attached Exhibit “A” are hereby approved and adopted. SECTION 2. The adopted compensation adjustments for City’s elected and statutory officers, and for City’s municipal executive officers, including any compensation schedules corresponding to such adjustments, shall be included in the final budget of Salt Lake City Corporation. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be deemed effective on July 1, 2025. 2 Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this _____ day of June 2025. Oldroyd, Senior City Attorney 3 EXHIBIT A 33 APPENDIX B – APPOINTED EMPLOYEES BY DEPARTMENT Effective June 22, 2025 34 35 Except for a change in job title or reassignment to a lower pay level, no appointed position on this pay plan may be added, removed or modified without approval of the City Council. * Compensation for transitional positions, including city council member-elect, is set as provided under Chapter 2.03.030 of the Salt Lake City Code. Benefits for transitional employees are equivalent to those provided to full-time employees. Except for leave time, benefits for city council members-elect are also equivalent to those provided to full-time employees.
