Adopting the 2025 Salt Lake County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Corporation (the “City”) recognizes the threat that natural
hazards pose to people and property within Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the City has participation in the creation of a multi-hazard mitigation plan,
hereby known as the 2025 Salt Lake County Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with the
Disaster mitigation Act of 2000; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 Salt Lake County Hazard mitigation Plan identifies mitigation goals
and actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property in Salt Lake City from the
impacts of future hazards and disasters; and
WHEREAS, adoption of this resolution by the City Council of Salt Lake City demonstrates
the City’s commitment to hazard mitigation and to achieving the goals outlined in the 2025 Salt
Lake County Hazard Mitigation Plan;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby adopts the 2025 Salt Lake County Hazard Mitigation Plan; and
2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
