RESOLUTION NO. ________ OF 2026
RESOLUTION TO HONORARILY CHANGE THE NAME OF 500 SOUTH STREET
BETWEEN STATE STREET AND 700 EAST STREET TO
DOLORES HUERTA BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, on August 7th, 2002, the Salt Lake City Council adopted a resolution to
honorarily change the name of 500 South Street between 500 West Street and 700 East Street to
“Cesar Chavez Boulevard;” and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Council finds there is good cause to remove the
honorary designation from 500 South Street; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Council finds there is good cause to change the name of
the City owned portion of 500 South Street between State Street and 700 East Street in Salt
Lake City, on an honorary basis, to “Dolores Huerta Boulevard” without changing the official
name or designation of the street.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
1.Removal of Honorary Street Name. The name of 500 South Street between State
Street and 700 East Street shall no longer be known on an honorary basis as “Cesar
Chavez Boulevard.”
2.Honorary Street Name Change. The name of the City owned portion of 500 South
Street between State Street and 700 East Street shall be and hereby changed on an
honorary basis to “Dolores Huerta Boulevard.”
3.Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective on the date of publication.
