SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 11 of 2001
(Amending the Salt Lake City Zoning Code
Regarding Cellular Antennas)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SALT LAKE CITY'S ZONING CODE TO
ALLOW CELLULAR ANTENNAS IN THE DOWNTOWN SECONDARY CENTRAL
BUSINESS DISTRICT (D-4) AND GATEWAY MIXED USE (G-MU) ZONING DISTRICTS,
PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-00-46.
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Zoning Code was recently amended to allow for greater
flexibility in the location of cellular antennas and other similar uses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has now discovered that the prior ordinance neglected to
allow for the location of cellular antennas in the Downtown Secondary Central Business District
(D-4) and Gateway Mixed Use (G-MU) zoning districts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds after public hearings before
its own body and before the Planning Commission that the Salt Lake City Zoning Code should
be amended to allow for the location of cellular antennas in those zoning districts, and that such
amendment is in the best interest of the City;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. The table located at Section 21A.40.090 E of the Salt Lake City Code
entitled "Wireless Telecommunication Facilities," shall be and hereby is amended to read as set
forth in Exhibit"A" attached hereto.
SECTION 2. Effective date. This ordinance shall become effective on the date of its
first publication.
