(Dog License Fees )
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 100-1-8 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, BY ADDING A NEW
SUBSECTION ( 2 ) (d ) RELATING TO DOG LICENSE FEES.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1 . That Section 100-1-8 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City , Utah, be, and the same hereby is amended by
ADDING a new subsection (2 ) (d) thereto, relating to dock license
fees.
Sec. 100-1-8. ( 2 ) (0 ) One or two dogs owned by any person
whose income is at or below the poverty level, as established by
the City for this purpose. The Mayor or the Mayor's designee,
shall establish, and from time to time amend, rules and
regulations establishing a poverty level to be applied for the
purposes of this subsection. Poverty level shall mean that level
of income which will provide just the necessities of life for an
average prudent person. For the purpose of this subsection, an
owner 's income shall include all income received by the owner 's
parent or parents, or the owner 's spouse, if living in the same
household.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Labe City, Utah,
this 5th day of APRIL , 1983 .
