(Rezoning Property Located on the West Side of
Chicago Street and the South Side of 1100 North )
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965 AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
ZONING AND FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to Petition 400-26 of 1983 initiated by
Robert Koyen, requesting a change of zoning . The City Council of
Salt Lake City, Utah has held a public hearing to consider said
petition and the recommendation of the Planning Commission that
certain property located on the west side of Chicago Street and
the south side of 1100 North, Salt Lake City, presently zoned
Residential "R-2" should be rezoned to a Residential "R-4"
classification. The Council has taken into consideration citizen
testimony, and planning and demographic data of the area, and
based upon the same, finds that the proposed rezoning is
appropriate in order to encourage appropriate development and
growth compatible with the best interests of the neighborhood and
the development of the City as a whole; and
WHEREFORE the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions in
Title 51 .
NOW, THEREFORE be it ordained by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1 . That the Use District Map as adopted by Section
51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965
as amended, relating to the fixing of boundaries of Use
Districts, be, and the same hereby is amended as follows :
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Use Districts. That the
following described parcel of residentially zoned land in Salt
Lake City, Utah generally located on the est side of Chicago
Street and the south side of 1100 North, currently zoned
Residential "R-2" is hereby rezoned to a Residential "R-4"
classification and the Use District Map is amended and changed
accordingly.
Residential "R-2 " to Residential "R-4" :
Commencing at a point 10 feet north of the
northeast corner of Lot 22, Block 69, Kinneys and
Gourlays Improved City Plat, a subdivision located
in the southwest 1/4; northeast 1/4 Section 26 ,
T. 1 N. , R. 1 W. , S.L.B. & M. Thence running north
along the west line of Chicago Street 410 feet to
the south line of 1100 North Street; thence west
alonq the south line of 1100 North street 150
feet; thence south 410 feet; thence east 150 feet
to the point of beginning .
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after
the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 3rd day of May , 1983.
