025 of 1988 - Amending Section 21.20.010 (K) of the SLC Code Relating to Accessory Buildings 0 88-1 0 88-8 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 25 of 1988 (Amending Section 21.20.010(K) dealing with electrical power in accessory buildings. ) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 21.20.010(K) OF THE SALT LAKE CITY CODE RELATING TO ACCESSORY BUILDINGS. WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission concerning the subject of electrical power in acces- sory buildings and believes the following amendments to be appropriate; THEREFORE, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby adopts the following amendment to Section 21.20.010(K) . Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 21.20.010(K) of the Salt Lake City Code relating to accessory buildings be, and the same hereby is AMENDED as follows: Sec. 21. 20.010(K) . One story accessory buildings totaling not over seven hundred and twenty square feet in area used for garage space, household storage, above-ground bomb or fallout shelters, or containing no special wiring or plumbing or other facilities making possible conversion to living or commercial use. Electrical service shall not exceed 220 volt, 40 ampere single phase or 110 volt, 15 ampere single phase. In addition, covered patios open on at least three sides shall be permitted for patio purposes only either attached to an accessory building or as a detached structure or attached to the rear of the home. If attached to the rear of the home at least a fifteen-foot open unoccupied area must be maintained between the patio roof line and the rear property line. All such accessory buildings must be located in the rear yard and not less than sixty feet from the front lot line, thirty feet from a corner lot on the side street, four feet in rear of the main building and fifteen feet from any dwelling on an adjacent lot; and the total covered area cannot exceed fifty percent of the rear yard area; and SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon publication. Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 3rd day of May 1988.
