028 of 2001 - creating a Sign Overlay District for the Delta Center and amending the Zoning Ordinance to allow Loc 0 01-1 P 00-32 SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE No. 28 of 2001 (Creating a Sign Overlay District for the Delta Center and Amending the Salt Lake City Zoning Ordinance to Allow Localized Alternative Sign Overlay Districts Within Downtown Zoning Districts.) AN ORDINANCE CREATING A SIGN OVERLAY DISTRICT FOR THE DELTA CENTER LOCATED AT 301 WEST SOUTH TEMPLE AND AMENDING THE SALT LAKE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE TO ALLOW LOCAL ALTERNATIVE SIGN OVERLAY DISTRICTS WITHIN DOWNTOWN ZONING DISTRICTS, PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-99-35. WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Code Chapter 21A.46.130 provides for the creation of sign overlay districts; and WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Zoning Code contains regulations regarding the signs allowed in various districts; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds, after public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission, that the City should create a sign overlay district for the Delta Center and that portions of the Salt Lake City Code should be amended to allow localized alternative sign overlay districts within downtown zoning districts, and find that such action is in the best interest of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. Chapter 21A.46.130 B of the Salt Lake City Code shall be and hereby is amended to read as follows: B. Applicability: These regulations shall be applicable to sites two (2) acres or larger in the following districts; RP District CG District CS District A District UI District BP District I District PL District These regulations shall also apply to stadiums, arenas, convention centers on sites larger than two (2) acres, in the following districts; D-1 District D-2 District D-3 District D-4 District SECTION 2. Pursuant to Salt Lake City Code Chapter 21A.46.130, a sign overlay district shall be and hereby is created for the Delta Center, located at 301 West South Temple. The property which shall be and hereby is included in that sign overlay district is more particularly described as set forth on Exhibit"A" attached hereto. SECTION 3. The table located at Chapter 21A.46.110.A.3 of the Salt Lake City Code, entitled "Sign Type, Size and Height Standards for the D-1 and D-4 Districts" shall be and hereby is renumbered as Chapter 21A.46.110.A.3.a. SECTION 4. A table to be located at Chapter 21A.46.110.A.3.b of the Salt Lake City Code shall be and hereby is enacted to read as set forth on Exhibit"B" attached hereto. SECTION 5. To the extent necessary,the Salt Lake City zoning map shall be and hereby is amended consistent with this ordinance. SECTION 6. Effective Date.
