(Limitations on U-turns)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 196 OF THE TRAFFIC CODE OF THE
REVISED ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO
LIMITATIONS ON U-TURNS.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 196 of the Traffic Code of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, be, and the same
hereby is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 196. Limitations on U-turns. (1 ) The driver of any
vehicle shall not make a U-turn at any intersection or between
intersections on any street or highway when such turn is
prohibited by sign or other traffic control device.
(2) The driver of any vehicle shall not make a U-turn upon
any curve or approach to the crest of a grade where such vehicle
cannot be seen for a distance of five hundred feet by the driver
of any other approaching vehicle.
(3) The driver of any vehicle shall not in any event make a
U-turn at any location unless such movement can be made in safety
without delaying or interfering with other traffic.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
