400-500 East Streets)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO ZONING AND
FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to the request for a change of zoning
initiated by G. Teseros, said request being known as Petition No.
603 of 1981, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held
public hearings before its own body and before the Planning
Commission, has taken into consideration citizen testimony,
planning and demographic data of the areas as part of its own
deliberations. Pursuant to these deliberations, said Council has
concluded that the zoning within the Central City neighborhood,
proposed to change from a Residential "R-7" district to a
Commercial "C-3A" classification, is appropriate to enlarge the
existing commercial zoning in the area.
Therefore, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions in
Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Map, as adopted by Section
51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965,
relating to the fixing of boundaries of Use Districts, be, and
the same hereby is, amended as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Districts. That the following
described parcel of residentially zoned land in Salt Lake City,
Utah, generally located between 400-500 East Streets from 100-175
South, currently zoned Residential "R-7", is hereby rezoned to
enlarge the abutting commercial district, by changing to a
Commercial "C-3A" classification, and the Use District Map is
amended and changed accordingly.
Residential "R-7" to Commercial "C-3A":
Beginning at a point at the southeast corner of
100 South Street and 400 East Street, said point
being on the south line of 100 South Street, being
the northwest corner of Lot 5, Block 51, Plat B,
Salt Lake City Survey; and thence running east
along the south line of 100 South Street 660 feet,
more or less, to the southwest corner of 500 East
and 100 South, being the northeast corner of Lot
8, of said Block 51; thence south along the west
line of 500 East Street 495 feet, more or less;
thence west 660 feet, more or less, to the east
line of 400 East Street; thence north 495 feet,
more or less, along the east line of 400 East
Street to the point of beginning. (Containing
approximately 7.550 acres.)
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 4TH day of MAY 1982.
