SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 33 of 1988
(Adopting the final budget for the Library
Fund of Salt Lake City, Utah for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 1988 and ending
June 30, 1989.)
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET FOR THE LIBRARY
FUND OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
JULY 1, 1988 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1989.
PREAMBLE
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 111, Chapter 6,
Title 10, Utah Code Annotated (1953, as amended), the Budget
Officer of Salt Lake City Corporation (hereinafter the
"City") prepared and filed with the City Council a tentative
budget for the Library Fund for fiscal year beginning July
1, 1988, and ending June 30, 1989. The budget was
accompanied by a budget message as required by law.
The tentative budget for the library fund was reviewed,
considered and adopted by the City Council on May 24, 1988.
The City Council fixed the time and place for a public
hearing to be held on June 9, 1988 to consider the adoption
of the tentative budget for the library fund and ordered
notice thereof be published as required by Section 113,
Chapter 6, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated (1953, as amended).
Notice of said public hearing to consider the adoption of
the tentative budget for the library fund was duly published
as required by law. The public hearing to consider adoption
of the tentative budget for the library fund was held on
June 9, 1988 in accordance with said notice, at which
hearing all interested parties were heard for and against
the estimates of revenue and expenditures or any item
thereof in the tentative budget for the Library Fund.
Section 118, Chapter 6, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated
( 1953, as amended) requires that before the 15th day of June
of each fiscal year, the governing body shall by resolution
or ordinance adopt a budget for the ensuing fiscal year for
each fund for which a budget is required. All conditions
precedent to the final adoption of said budget for the
Library Fund has been accomplished.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. PURPOSE. Section 118, Chapter 6, Title 10
Utah Code Annotated ( 1953, as amended) requires that before
the 15th day of June of each year, the governing body shall
by resolution or ordinance adopt a budget for the ensuing
fiscal year for each fund for which a budget is required.
Since all conditions precedent to the adoption of the final
budget for the Library Fund has been accomplished, the
purpose of this ordinance is to adopt the final budget for
the Library Fund of the City for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1988 and ending June 30, 1989.
SECTION 2. ADOPTION OF BUDGETS. The budget attached
hereto and made a part of this Ordinance, be, and the same

hereby is adopted as the budget for the Library Fund of the
City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1988 and ending
June 30, 1989, in accordance with requirements of Section
118, Chapter 6, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated ( 1953, as
amended) . The adopted budget is subject to the approval of
the Mayor and reconsideration of the City Council pursuant
to Section 1214, Chapter 3, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated
(1953, as amended) and to completion of any notice and
hearing requirements mandated by Chapter 2, Title 59, Utah
Code Annotated ( 1953 as amended) .
SECTION 3. FILING OF BUDGETS. The City Budget Officer
is hereby authorized and directed to certify and file copies
of said budget with the State Auditor as required by the
provisions of Section 118, Chapter 6, Title 10, Utah Code
Annotated ( 1953, as amended) .
SECTION 4. PUBLIC INSPECTION. The City Budget Officer
is hereby authorized and directed to certify and file copies
of said budget in the office of said Budget Officer and in
the Office of the City Recorder, which budget shall be
available for public inspection during regular business
hours as required by Section 119, Chapter 6, Title 10, Utah
Code Annotated (1953, as amended) .
SECTION 6. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall take
effect on July 1, 1988.
