SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 42 of 1982
(Change of "B-3" and "R-2" zoning to
"C-2" at the northeast corner of the
intersection of 900 West and 1700 South)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, RELATING TO ZONING`
AND FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to the request for a change of zoning
initiated by Arthur and Fred Fairclough, said request being
known as Petition No. 301 of 1981, the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah, has held public hearings before its own body
and before the Planning Commission, and has taken into
consideration citizen testimony, planning and demographic
details of the area as part of its own deliberations. Pursuant
to these deliberations, said Council has concluded that the
proposed change from the existing Business "B-3" and Residential
"R-2" zoning within this westside neighborhood to a Commercial
"C-2" classification is appropriate to enlarge the existing
commercial zoning in the area.
Therefore, City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions
in Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Map as adopted by
Section 51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, relating to the fixing of boundaries of Use Districts,
be, and the same hereby is, amended as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Districts. That the following
described parcel of land in Salt Lake City, Utah, presently
zoned Business "B-3" and Residential "R-2" generally located
in a parcel 429 feet east and 273 feet north at the northeast
corner of the intersection of 900 West and 1700 South Streets,
is hereby rezoned to enlarge the abutting commercial district
by changing to a Commercial "C-2" classification and the Use
District Map is amended and enlarged accordingly.
"B-3" and "R-2" to "C-2".
Beginning at a point which is 13.5 feet North of
the Southwest corner of Block 5, Five Acre Plat B,
Big Field Survey, (said point also being the
Northeast corner on the intersection of 900 West v
and 1700 South Street widened) , thence running
N 89144'35" E 429.0 feet; thence N 0'01'28" E
273.6 feet, more or less, to the South Lot Line
of Lot 3, said Block 5; thence S 89°44'35" W along
said South Lot Line 429.0 feet to the West Block
Line of said Block; thence S 0001128" W along
said West Block Line 273.6 feet to the point of
beginning. (Contains 2.6945 acres more or less) .
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah this
15th day of June , 1982.
