SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 5 of 1988
(Designating as an historical landmark the
Nephi W. Clayton House located at
140 East 2nd Avenue, pursuant to Case No. 710)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-32-2(4) (b) OF THE
REVISED ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS
AMENDED, RELATING TO HISTORICAL LANDMARK SITES.
WHEREAS, in response to Case No. 710, the City Council
of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held public hearings before its
own body, before the Historical Landmark Committee and the
Planning Commission and has taken into account citizen
testimony and other matters as part of its deliberation.
Pursuant to these deliberations, the Council has concluded
it appropriate to add the Nephi W. Clayton House, located at
140 East 2nd Avenue, as a city landmark site.
THEREFORE, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
hereby adopts the following amendment to Section 51-32-
2(4)(b) .
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 51-32-2(4) (b) be amended by
adding subsection (37) as follows:
Sec. 51-32-2(4)(b)(37) Nephi W. Clayton House, 140 East
2nd Avenue.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall take
effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 5th day of January 198 8.
