(Rezoning Property Located on the South Side of
Linden Avenue between 700 and 800 East)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965 AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
ZONING AND FIXING BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to Petition 400-52 of 1983 initiated by
Dale Barton, requesting a change of zoning. The City Council of
Salt Lake City, Utah has held a public hearing to consider said
petition and the recommendation of the Planning Commission that
certain property located on the south side of Linden Avenue
between 700 and 800 Fast, Salt Lake City, presently zoned
Residential "R-6" should be rezoned to a Commercial "C-l"
classification. The Council has taken into consideration citizen
testimony, and planning and demographic data of the area, and
based upon the same, finds that the proposed rezoning is
appropriate in order to encourage appropriate development and
growth compatible with the best interests of the neighborhood and
the development of the City as a whole; and
WHEREFORE the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, hereby
adopts the following amendments to the Use District provisions in
Title 51 .
NOW, THEREFORE be it ordained by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1 . That the Use District Map as adopted by Section
51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965
as amended, relating to the fixing of boundaries of Use District,
be, and the same hereby is amended as follows :
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Use Districts. That the
following described parcel of residentially zoned land in Salt
Lake City, Utah generally located on the south side of Linden
Avenue between 700 and 800 East, currently zoned Residential
"R-6" is hereby rezoned to a Commercial "C-1" classification and
the Use District Map is amended and changed accordingly.
Commencing at a point on the east right-of-way
line of 700 East Street, said point being located
165 feet north of the southwest corner of Lot 2 ,
Block 40, Plat "B" , Salt Lake City Survey , running
thence East 544 . 5 feet; thence North 8.25 feet;
thence West 16 . 5 feet; thence North 82 . 5 feet; �� :✓�
thence East 49 . 5 feet; thence North 41 . 25 feet to
the south right-of-way line of Linden Avenue;
thence West 577. 5 feet more or less along the
south right-of-way line of Linden Avenue to the C
intersection of Linden Avenue and 700 East Street;
thence South 151 feet along the East right-of-way
line of 700 East Street to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days after
the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 2nd day of August , 1983 .
