AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE LIMITS OF SALT LAKE CITY TO
INCLUDE THE "NORTHWEST QUADRANT ANNEX #1 " ; ZONING THE SAME
INDUSTRIAL "M-1A" AND AGRICULTURAL "A-1 " BY AMENDING THE USE
DISTRICT MAP AS ADOPTED BY SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965; AMENDING THE SALT LAKE
CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT AND SCHOOL PRECINCT BOUNDARIES MAP; AND
SPECIFYING CONDITIONS OF SAID ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Recorder of Salt
Lake City, Petition Nos. 94-82, 180-82, 203-82 , 277-82 and
288-82, together with plats showing the tracts of land to be
annexed and hereafter known collectively as the "Northwest
Quadrant Annex # 1 " , requesting that the tract of land hereinafter
described, be taken within the limits of Salt Lake City
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Petitions are signed by a majority of the
owners of the real property and the owners of more than one-third
in value of all the real property, as shown by the last assess-
ment rolls, situated in the tracts hereinafter described ; and
WHEREAS, the petitioners have caused accurate plats or maps

9th day of November , 1982, passed Resolution No. 103 of 1982,

WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, after examining
said Petitions, having said Petitions reviewed by various depart-
ments of the City, having considered the circumstances thereof at
a publicly advertised hearing held January 11 , 1983 , and after
finding said proposed extension or annexation to be consistent
and in keeping with its Master Annexation Policy Declaration
being an enlargement of and subpart of Area 1 of said Declaration
as amended on January 11 , 1983, said Council voted by a 2/3 vote
of all of its members present, in favor of said annexation; and

"A-1 " . The Use District Map as adopted by Section 51 -12-2 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended,
relating to the fixing of boundaries of the Use Districts is
hereby amended by the addition of said properties to such
classifications.
SECTION 3. CITY COUNCIL AND SCHOOL DISTRICT MAP. The "Salt
Lake City Council District and School Precinct Boundaries Map" is
hereby amended to include the parcels specified in Section 1 of
this ordinance, in Council District 1 and School Precinct 1 , as
specified on such map.
SECTION 4 . GENERAL JURISDICTION. Be it further ordained
and declared that the said tracts of land described above in
Section 1 shall thenceforth be within the corporate limits of
Salt Lake City Corporation. Said tracts of land shall be zoned
as provided in Section 2 . All ordinances, jurisdictions, rules
and obligations of or pertaining to Salt Lake City are extended
over and made applicable and pertinent to these tracts of land;
and the streets, blocks, alleys and ways of said tracts shall be
controlled and governed by the ordinance, rules, and regulations
of said City in that behalf. The monuments of the City Engineer
shall thenceforth be taken therein as the standards of locations

publication of this ordinance, the City Recorder of Salt Lake
City is hereby directed to file with the County Recorder of Salt
Lake County, a copy of the map or plat above mentioned, duly
certified and acknowledged , as provided in such cases together
with a certified copy of this ordinance. The City Recorder is
further directed to provide notice to the State Tax Commission
under the provisions of Section 11 -12-1 , Utah Code Ann. , 1953, as
amended.
SECTION 7. PUBLICATION AND EFFECT. This ordinance
supercedes the Ordinance No. 3 of 1983, approved by the City
Council on January 18 , 1983 , and shall take effect upon the date
of its first publication. Publication shall not occur until the
annexation plats or maps have been properly submitted , approved
and signed by the Mayor.
