SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 64 of 2014
(Amending the Zoning Map to establish the Yalecrest-Harvard Park Local Historic District)
An ordinance amending the Zoning Map to establish the Yalecrest-Harvard Park Local
Historic District pursuant to Petition No.PLNHLC20 1 3-008 1 6.
WHEREAS,the Salt Lake City Historic Landmark Commission held a public hearing on
June 5,2014 on an application submitted by the Kelly Marinan("Applicant")to amend the
City's zoning map(Petition No.PLNHLC2013-00816)to apply the H Historic Preservation
Overlay District to properties located on Harvard Avenue between 1700 East Street and 1800
East Street,which area shall be known as the Yalecrest-Harvard Park Local Historic District;and
WHEREAS,at its June 5,2014 public hearing,the historic landmark commission voted
in favor of forwarding a positive recommendation to the Salt Lake City Planning Commission
and Salt Lake City Council on said application.
WHEREAS,the planning commission held a public hearing on June 25,2014 on said
application;and
WHEREAS,at its June 25,2014 meeting,the planning commission voted in favor of
forwarding a positive recommendation to the city council on said application;and
WHEREAS,after a public hearing on this matter the city council has determined that
adopting this ordinance is in the city's best interests.
NOW,THEREFORE,be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City,Utah:
SECTION 1. Amending the Zoning Map. The Salt Lake City zoning map,as adopted
by the Salt Lake City Code,relating to the fixing of boundaries and zoning districts,shall be and
hereby is amended to apply the H Historic Preservation Overlay District to all buildings,
structures and real property within the boundaries described and depicted on Exhibit "A". The
areas described and depicted on Exhibit"A" shall be known as the Yalecrest-Harvard Park Local
Historic District.
SECTION 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective on the date
of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this day of November
2014.

Description of the Area Subject to a Zoning Map Amendment
to add the H — Historic Preservation Overlay District
Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 1, Harvard Park Subdivision,located in the south 1/2 of
Block 28, Five Acre Plat`C', Big Field Survey; thence in a westerly direction along the south
boundary of the Harvard Park Subdivision 796.03 feet, more or less, to the centerline of 1700
East Street; thence in a northerly direction along said centerline 287.1 feet, more or less; thence
in an easterly direction along the north boundary of the Harvard Park Subdivision 828.92 feet,
more or less, to the centerline of i800 East Street; thence in a southerly direction287.1 feet,
more or less, along said centerline; thence in a westerly direction 33 feet, more or less,to the
point of beginning.
