between 2100 South Street and Commonwealth Avenue
at 600 East, Running West and South to
Commonwealth Avenue at Approximately 520 East)
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN "L" SHAPED ALLEY, SAID ALLEY,
BEGINNING AT 600 EAST AND RUNNING WEST PARALLEL TO AND BETWEEN
2100 SOUTH AND COMMONWEALTH AVENUE STREET, AND THE SOUTH EXITING
ONTO COMMONWEALTH AVENUE AT APPROXIMATELY 520 EAST.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds
that the City's defeasible fee interest in the alley described
below, which was formally dedicated within the Glenwood Subdi-
vision, is no longer necessary for use as a public alleyway, and
the vacation of said alley described below will not be adverse to
the City's interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the "L" shaped alley beginning at 600 East
Street and running west parallel to and between 2100 South Street
and Commonwealth Avenue, to approximately 520 East where it turns
south to exit upon Commonwealth Avenue in the platted of Glenwood
Subdivision, which is the subject of Petition No. 195 of 1982,
more particularly described below, be, and the same hereby is
VACATED and declared no longer to be needed or available for use
as a public alley.
Beginning at a point at the Southwestern corner of
Lot 70, Glenwood Subdivision, a subdivision of Lot 9,
Block 43, 10 Acre "A", Big Field Survey, bearing base
being South 0*11 ' West along the West line of said
Lot 9; and running thence North 0°11 ' East 104 feet
along the West line of said Lot 70; thence North-
easterly 16.3 feet, more or less, to the North lot
line of Lot 70, said point being 27 feet westerly of
the East property line of Lot 70; thence Southeast- o
erly along the rear lot lines of Lots 50-70 of said
+L subdivision to the Northeast corner of Lot 50; thence
North 0*11 ' East 11.37± feet to the Southeast corner
of Lot 98; thence North 89*52' West 580.1 feet, morePr" F+
or less, along the rear lot lines of Lots 77-98;
thence Northwesterly along the rear lot line of Lot
77 to a point on the East lot line of Lot 76, said
point being Northward from the Southeast corner of ..j
Lot 76; thence South along the extended eastern lot
lines of Lots 71 and 76 South 0`11 ' West 135.91 feet,
more or less, to the Southeast corner of Lot 71 ;
thence North 89°52' East 13 feet, more or less, to
the point of beginning. Containing 0.19 acres more
or less.
Said vacation is EXPRESSLY MADE SUBJECT TO all exist-
ing rights of ways and easements of all public
utilities of any and every description now located
on, in, under or over the confines of the above-
described property; and ALSO SUBJECT TO the rights of
entry thereon for the purpose of obtaining, altering,
replacing, removing, repairing, or rerouting said
utilities and all of them. Said vacation is ALSO
SUBJECT TO any existing rights of ways or easements
of private third parties.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 5th day of October 1982.
