SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 83 of 1983
(Zoning Violation and Penalty)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-4-6 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965 AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
ZONING VIOLATION AND PENALTY .
Be it ordained by the City Council of.. Salt Lake City , Utah:
SECTION 1 . That Section 51-4-6 of the Revised Ordinances of.
Salt Lake City , Utah, 1965 as amended , relating to zoning
violation and penalty, be, and the same hereby is amended as
follows :
Sec. 51-4-6. Violation and penalty. Any person, firm or
corporation whether acting as owner or occupant of the premises
involved , or contractor, or otherwise, who violates or refuses to
comply with any of the provisions of this title, or the
provisions of any order of the Board of Adjustment, shall. be
guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished
by a fine in any sum not exceeding two hundred and ninety-nine
dollars, or by imprisonment in the City jail for a period not
longer than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
In imposing the fine, the court may, in default of the payment of
the fine enter as part of the judgment that the violator may be
imprisoned in the City jail for a period of not exceeding six
months. A separate offense shall be deemed to be committed on
each day an offense occurs or continues.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall. take effect 30 days after
its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 13th day of December , 1983.
