(Rezoning of Ambassador Club
Site from "R-7" to "C-3A")
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED,
RELATING TO ZONING AND FIXING OF BOUNDARIES OF USE DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to the request for a change of
zoning initiated by Mr. Gordon S. Sloan on behalf of the
Ambassador Club, said petition being known as Petition No.
269 of 1982, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has
held public hearings before its own body and before the
Planning Commission, and has taken into consideration citi-
zen testimony, planning and demographic details of the area,
and the master plan as part of its own deliberations.
Pursuant to these deliberations, the Council has concluded
that the proposed change in the western half of Block 52,
relating to the property owned by and incorporated in the
present Ambassador Club site at 145 South 500 East, from the
existing Residential "R-7" zoning to a Commercial "C-3A"
zoning classification is appropriate for the development of
the community in that area.
Therefore, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
hereby adopts the following amendment to the Use District
provisions of Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Map as adopted by
Section 51-12-2, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,
1-965, as amended, relating to the fixing of boundaries of Use
Districts, be, and the same hereby is, AMENDED as follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Use Districts. That the
following described parcel of land in Salt Lake City, Utah,
presently zoned Residential "R-7", generally known as the
Ambassador Club site at 145 South 500 East, is hereby rezoned
to a Commercial "C-3A" classification, and the Use District
Map is amended and enlarged accordingly.

Beginning at the Northwest corner of Block 52,
Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey; and running
thence East 141.0 feet; thence South 165.0
feet; thence East 31.0 feet; thence South 82.5
feet; thence East 158.0 feet; thence South
73.167 feet; thence West 100.0 feet; thence
South 174.33 feet, more or less; thence West
230.0 feet; thence North 495.0 feet, more or
less, to the point of beginning. Contains
2.335 acres.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon the
date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
