(Rezoning certain property between Main
and State Streets south of 200 North from
Residential "R-5" to Residential "R-3A"
pursuant to Petition No. 400-366-86)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 51-12-2 OF THE REVISED
ORDINANCES OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, 1965, AS AMENDED,
RELATING TO ZONING AND FIXING OF BOUNDARIES OF USE
DISTRICTS.
WHEREAS, in response to Petition No. 400-366-86
concerning zoning of certain parcels in the Capitol Hill
area, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held
public hearings before its own body and before the Planning
Commission, and has taken into consideration citizen
testimony, filings and demographic details of the area as
part of its deliberation. Pursuant to these deliberations,
the Council has concluded that it is appropriate to rezone a
portion of the subject property between Main and State
Streets south of 200 North from Residential "R-5" to
Residential "R-3A" for the development of the community in
that area.
NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah, hereby adopts the following amendments to the Use
District provisions of Title 51.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Use District Map, as adopted by
Section 51-12-2, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah,
1965, as amended, relating to the fixing of boundaries of
Use Districts, be, and the same hereby is AMENDED as
follows:
Sec. 51-12-2. Boundaries of Use Districts. That the
following-described property lying in Salt Lake City, Utah,
presently zoned Residential "R-5" , lying between Main and
State Streets south of 200 North, as more fully specified
below, is hereby rezoned to a Residential "R-3A" classifica-
tion, and the Use District Map is amended accordingly.
Commencing at a point located at the Northwest
corner of Lot 5, Block 93, Plat A, Salt Lake City
Survey said point also being at the Southeast
corner of the intersection of 200 North Street and
Main Street, thence South 148.5 feet along the East right of way line of Main Street, thence East /
269 feet, thence South 8.25 feet, thence East 77.5
feet, thence South 8.25 feet, thence East 350 feet
plus or minus along the South lot line of Lot 6,
Block 93, Plat A, Salt Lake City Survey, extended
to the West right of way line of State Street,
thence North 165 feet along the West right of way
line of State Street, thence West 696.94 feet to
the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be
effective immediately upon its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 8th day of December 1987.
