RESOLUTION NO. 87 OF 19 82
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT
BETWEEN SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION
AND
SALT LAKE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Title 11, Chapter 13, U.C.A., 1953 as amended,
allows public entities to enter into cooperative agreements to
provide joint undertakings and services; and
WHEREAS, the attached agreement has been prepared to
accomplish said purposes;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
1. It does hereby approve the attached agreement generally
described as follows:
Interlocal agreement between
Salt Lake City and Salt Lake
County for noise enforcement
services.
2. Ted L. Wilson, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, is hereby
authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of Salt Lake City
Corporation and to act in accordance with its terms.

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, is made and entered into as of the
day of _ , 1982, by and between
SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION, a municipal corporation of the
State of Utah, hereinafter referred to as "City", and SALT
LAKE COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Utah,
hereinafter referred to as "County".
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the parties hereto have previously organized the
Salt Lake City-County Health Department; and
WHEREAS, the City-County Health Department and the Salt
Lake City Police Department have joint responsibility for
enforcing the noise ordinances of Salt Lake City; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City-County Board of Health Depart-
ment has the equipment to test for noise violations; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City Police Department has the police
power required to pull violators over and to issue citations so
them; and
WHEREAS, rising costs have made it necessary that the
parties charge for various services in order to keep the program
going; and
WHEREAS, on December 3, 1981, the Salt Lake City-County
Board of Health adopted a $15.00 vehicle inspection fee to be
paid by persons who receive a traffic citation for violation of
the City's noise ordinance and are referred to the Health
Department for vehicle inspection;
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
1. Salt Lake City-County Health Department agrees that
for each compliance testing performed on a citation issued in
Salt Lake City by a Salt Lake City Corporation police officer,
the Health Department will collect the sum of FIFTEEN DOLLARS
($15.00) from each citation holder who utilizes its services;
to pay TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) of said fee to Salt Lake City
Corporation; and to forward the balance of FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00)
to the Salt Lake County Treasurer.
2. Salt Lake City Corporation agrees to allocate officers
