090 of 1982 - Approving the transfer of $45,000 from General Funds to the Public Works Department to sample wells �2_ C 82-582 RESOLUTION 90 of 1982 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF $45,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY TO THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO ESTABLISH A TRUST FUND TO PAY THE COSTS OF SAMPLING WELLS AT THE ROSE PARK WASTE DISPOSAL AREA. WHEREAS, the City has been working with the City/County Health Department, the Utah State Department of Health, AMOCO Oil Company and the United States Environmental Protection Agency in an effort to mitigate the existence of a sludge pit located at the Rose Park Waste Disposal Area; and WHEREAS, the solution agreed upon by the above parties requires continual monitoring to ensure its effectiveness; and WHEREAS, the City Council is supportive of monitoring the effective- ness of the project; however, the original appropriation was not adequate to perform the sampling; and WHEREAS, the Mayor has assigned administrative responsibility for the project to the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, in fiscal year 1982-83 the Salt Lake City Council established a non-departmental General Fund contingency to finance such unanticipated expenditures; and WHEREAS, transfers from said fund are subject to City Council authorization and approval ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Salt Lake City Council that the funding referred to herein for sampling wells at the Rose Park Waste Disposal Area, in the amount of $45,000, is hereby approved for transfer from the City' s non-departmental General Fund contingency to the Public Works Department' s budget for creation of a perpetual fund to pay for the sampling.
