RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council adopt the resolution.
BUDGET IMPACT: Increases the balance of one Capital Improvement Program cost center by a total of
$55,365.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: On December 4, 2017, Salt Lake City applied for funding through Salt Lake
County's Active Transportation Improvement Program to assist in the design and construction of the
segment of the 9 Line/ 900 South Trail between 900 East and 1300 East. This encompassed a high-
comfort, above-the-curb trail along 900 South in conjunction with a road reconstruction from Lincoln
Street (950 East) to 1300 East and add wayfinding signage on 900 South and Gilmer Drive.
This project was not completed before the end date of the agreement, also an extension was not made
prior to the end date of the agreement. Salt Lake County has contracted with the City to complete the

work on Gilmer Drive intersection to expend the remaining $55,365 not expended before the original
agreement end.

RESOLUTION NO. _____ OF 2021
Authorizing the approval of an interlocal cooperation agreement between Salt Lake City
Corporation and Salt Lake County with respect to the County’s transfer of up to $55,365.00 to
reimburse the City for reconfiguration of the Gilmore Drive intersection and other related
improvements
WHEREAS, Utah Code Title 11, Chapter 13 allows public entities to enter into
cooperative agreements to provide joint undertakings and services; and
WHEREAS, the attached agreement has been prepared to accomplish said purposes by
effecting a transfer of up to fifty-five thousand three hundred sixty-five dollars ($55,365.00)
from Salt Lake County (“County”) to Salt Lake City Corporation (“City”) with the
understanding that the City will use such funds as reimbursement for certain costs incurred by
the City to reconfigure the Gilmer Drive intersection.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah as
follows:
1. It does hereby approve the execution and delivery of the following interlocal
agreement providing funding to the City for the financing of highway
construction, reconstruction and maintenance projects:
AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN SALT LAKE
COUNTY AND SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION (DA LOG NO. 20-16117)
2. The effective date of the agreement shall be the date on which an executed copy
of the Agreement has been filed with the keeper of records of each of the parties
to the Agreement.
3. Erin Mendenhall, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah or her designee is hereby
authorized to approve, execute, and deliver said agreement on behalf of Salt Lake
City Corporation, in substantially the same form as now before the City Council
and attached hereto, subject to such minor changes that do not materially affect
the rights and obligations of the City thereunder and as shall be approved by the
Mayor, her execution thereof to constitute conclusive evidence of such approval.
