Salt Lake City Pretreatment Program

Dear Mr. West:
The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) public noticed the Salt Lake City (SLC) Ordinance for
implementing the pretreatment program in the service area regulated by Salt Lake City. The comment
period occurred from January 20, 2022, until March 10, 2022. No comments were received during the
comment period.
The SLC Ordinance for implementing the pretreatment program by SLC is hereby approved. Once
SLC has completed its approval process, the pretreatment staff must begin to modify the pretreatment
program, as needed. Within six months of receiving this letter, changes must be incorporated into the
pretreatment permits, boilerplate permit or the pretreatment program procedures. Changes to the
pretreatment program and documents must be submitted per the requirements of 40 CFR 403.18. DWQ
staff will be happy to assist in answering any questions you may have regarding minor or major changes
to the pretreatment program.
