RESOLUTION NO. 97 OF 1989
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT
BETWEEN SALT LAKE CITY CORPORATION
AND
UTAH DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, Title 11, Chapter 13 , U.C.A. , 1953 , as amended, allows
pubic entities to enter into cooperative agreements to provide joint
undertakings and services; and
WHEREAS, the attached agreement has been prepared to accomplish
said purposes;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
1. It does hereby approve the attached agreement generally
described as follows :
An agreement to establish a two level management and operation
structure consisting of The Engineer of Safety, Utah Department of
Transportation; and the Transportation Engineer , Salt Lake City
Corporation, to be charged with the determination of goals, objectives,
and policies related to the operation and maintenance of the signal
system. Both parties will maintain jurisdiction over their respective
roadways and signals. The Advisory Committee will be responsible for
traffic analysis , traffic control philosophy, computer programming, and
maintenance and installation functions.
2. Palmer A. DePaulis, Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, is hereby
authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of Salt Lake City
Corporation and to act in accordance with its terms.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
8th day of August , 1989.
