RESOLUTION
86 of 1982
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF $16,200 FROM THE
GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY FOR A SPECIAL ARSON FIRE ENFORCEMENT UNIT.
WHEREAS, the Fire Department has requested an appropriation
in the amount of $16,200.00 to be used to partially fund a Special
Arson Fire Enforcement Unit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is supportive of contributing to
this project; however, the requested expenditure was not antici-
pated by the City at the time of adoption of its 1982-83 fiscal
year budget and said budget therefore does not contain an appro-
priation for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Council has established a non-
departmental contingency fund to finance unanticipated expendi-
tures for fiscal year 1982-83; and
WHEREAS, expenditures from said fund are subject to City
Council authorization and approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Salt Lake City Council
that the funding for the Special Arson Fire Enforcement Unit,
paying only actual expenses of the Unit not to exceed $16,200, is
hereby approved for payment from the City's non-departmental General
Fund contingency.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is empowered to sign the
interlocal agreement effectuating this Special Arson Fire Enforcement
Unit.
