Approval of the Minutes for August 1, 2024 Action: Approved PUBLIC HEARING 1. Minor Alteration Murphy ADU Building Materials at Approximately 1076 East 3rd Ave - Jason Wheeler of Assist Community Design Center, representing the property owners, is requesting Minor Alteration approval to modify the exterior materials of a previously approved accessory building at the above-listed address. A special exception (PLNHLC2021-00479) was also approved on the June 3, 2021, Historic Landmark Commission meeting, allowing additional height. The property is located within the Avenues Local Historic District and the SR-1A (Special Development Pattern Residential) Zoning District. The subject property is located in Council District 3, represented by Chris Wharton. New Construction Cottonwood - Western Gardens at Approximately 550 S 600 E - Tyler Morris, on behalf of the property owners, is requesting New Construction approval in a Local Historic District for the above-listed address. The proposal is to construct a multi-family residential primary structure, housing a total of 166 units and a leasing office on the property. The existing structures on the property are proposed to be demolished. The property is located within the Central City Historic District. It is zoned FB-UN2 and is located within Council District 4, represented by Eva Lopez Chavez (Staff Contact: Nannette Larsen at 801-535-7645 or nannette.larsen@slc.gov) Case Number: PLNHLC2023-00909 Action: Approved with conditions. 3. National Register Nomination for Symphony Hall/Maurice Abravanel Hall at Approximately 123 W South Temple - The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has received a request to add Symphony Hall/Maurice Abravanel Hall, to the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register Review Committee will consider this nomination at their meeting on September 19, 2024. The SHPO is requesting review and input from Salt Lake City as the Certified Local Government in this matter. The property is not located within a Local Historic District or listed as a Local Landmark Site and would not be subject to any local preservation standards found in the H Historic Preservation Overlay zoning district.
