If you are interested in watching the Historic Landmark Commission meeting, it will be available on the following platforms: • YouTube: www.youtube.com/slclivemeetings If you are unable to attend in person but would like to submit comments regarding an item on the agenda, please email your comments to the staff contact listed for each item or provide general comments to historiclandmarks.comments@slc.gov. Public comments must be submitted by 12:00 PM on the Wednesday before the meeting to be included in the official staff report. Comments submitted after this deadline will still be shared with the Commission. However, please note that City Staff, Commissioners, and City Attorneys may not have time to fully review or respond to late submissions. The final cutoff for submitting written comments is 12:00 PM on the day of the meeting. Thank you for helping us ensure a fair and efficient review process. DINNER - Dinner will be served to the Commissioners and Staff at 5:00 p.m. in Room 326 of the City and County Building. During the dinner break, the Historic Landmark Commission may receive training on city planning-related topics, including the role and function of the Commission. HISTORIC LANDMARK COMMISSION MEETING WILL BEGIN AT 5:30 PM REPORT OF THE CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES PUBLIC COMMENTS - The Commission will hear public comments not pertaining to items listed on the agenda. WORK SESSION 1. Avenues Community Plan Update - Planning Staff will provide a briefing on the process to update the Avenues Community plan, including an overview of the exiting conditions report for the Avenues neighborhood and a summary of the public input received so far. The Avenues Community is in the northeastern area of the city, situated between City Creek to the west, University of Utah and East Bench to th east, and Downtown and Central City to the south. The Avenues Community Plan establishes the land use and growth related policies for the area and will be used to guide zoning, transportation, housing, and similar decisions. Chair and Vice-Chair Elections The next meeting of the Commission is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 2, 2025, unless a special meeting is scheduled prior to that date. For Historic Landmark Commission agendas, staff reports, and minutes, visit the Planning Division’s website at slc.gov/planning/public-meetings. Staff Reports will be posted the Friday prior to the meeting and minutes will be posted two days after they are ratified, which usually occurs at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Historic Landmark Commission. Anyone who is an “adversely affected party” as defined by Utah Code Section 10-9a-103, may appeal a decision of the Historic Landmark Commission by filing a written appeal with the appeals hearing officer within ten (10) calendar days following the date on which a record of decision is issued. The applicant may object to the decision of the Historic Landmark Commission by filing a written appeal with the appeals hearing officer within thirty (30) calendar days following the date on which a record of decision is issued.
