Roll called by Commission Secretary Vanessa Nelson. Historic District Street Sign Program – Public Services will be leading out on a city- wide historic district street sign program that will aim to replace existing street signs of approved historic districts with new street signs that will include a different color scheme and the name of the historic district. The goal of these signs will be to denote historic districts and enhance local identity. The Commission will be briefed on the project and shall provide input on street sign mock-ups. This street sign replacement program is not intended to replace the established planning process to designate historic districts. (Staff Contact: Julie Crookston at 801-535-6043 or Julie.crookston@slc.gov) SALT LAKE CITY | HISTORIC LANDMARK COMMISSION 3 Julie Crookston, Public Services Deputy Director, presented three options of the historical district signs and commissioners discussed the readability, longevity, spacing and logo design of each choice. O T H E R B U S I N E S S 2. Policies & Procedures Updates – (Staff Contact: Michaela Bell at 801-535-6003 or Michaela.bell@slc.gov) Deputy Director Michaela Bell reviewed the proposed changes to the Policies & Procedures. Commissioner McGrath inquired on additional clarity, language and punctuation edits. Commissioner Semnani requested a grammatical edit. Motion Emoli Kearns approve the amended Policy & Procedures Taymour Semnani Vote Abrahamson, Barnett, Kearns, McGrath, Semnani, White, Getz No: Abstained: Result passed unanimously Chair Getz called a five-minute recess at 6:41pm 3. Historic Landmark Commission’s Authority Training – (Staff Contact: Michaela Bell at 801-535-6003 or Michaela.bell@slc.gov) Deputy Director Michaela Bell presented on Salt Lake City’s preservation history, the sources of HLC’s authority, state and city codes, advisory function types (reviews & recommendations) and Commission challenges.
