Variance Decision
1739 S Mohawk Way

June 19, 2025
This application consists of a request for multiple variances in order to allow
for a garage expansion for a residential property located at1739 S Mohawk Way in
Salt Lake City, Utah (the “Property”). The first request for a variance was to reduce
the required front yard setback to 16” from 20’. The second request is to change the
front line of the building. Variances are decisions made by the Appeals Hearing
Officer in accordance with Salt Lake City ordinance, section 21A.18.020.
A hearing on this matter was initially held before the Appeals Hearing Officer
on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Colin Norwood, representing the property owner,
appeared and stipulated that the variance is not needed and does not fit the variance
standards.
Therefore, because of the stipulation and acknowledgment by the applicant,
no formal hearing was held and the decision to grant the variance is denied.
